Welded seams should not have cracks, burns, craters, coarse scaly, undercuts with a depth of more than 0.5 mm. [In the welds of pipelines P Y over 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2), undercuts are not allowed].

4.11. The scope of control of welded joints of steel pipelines by non-destructive methods as a percentage of the total number of joints welded by each welder (but not less than one joint) should be for pipelines:

R y experience 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2)

As non-destructive control methods, taking into account specific conditions, it is necessary to use predominantly ultrasonic, electro-radiographic and radiographic methods using photographic paper.

The entire perimeter of the joint should be controlled.

For pipelines of category I-IV, the joints that are the worst according to the results of external inspection are subject to control.

The control of the root of the welded joints of pipelines Р y over 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2) from steels of all groups with a wall thickness of 16 mm or more should be carried out by radiographic method, and the final control of finished welded joints from steels of groups C, XG, XM - mainly ultrasonic flaw detection.

Finished welded joints of pipelines P y over 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2) before radiographic or ultrasonic testing should be controlled by a magnetic particle or color method. In this case, the surface of the seam and the area adjacent to it with a width of 20 mm from the edges of the seam are subject to control.

4.12 . The quality of welded joints of steel pipelines based on the results of radiographic testing should be assessed using a scoring system in accordance with mandatory Appendix 4. Welded joints should be rejected if their total score is equal to or greater for pipelines:

R y over 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2)

Welded joints rated by the specified or higher score are subject to correction, after which the number of joints doubled from the initial control volume, made by the welder who allowed the marriage, is subjected to additional control.

Welded joints of pipelines of categories III and IV, rated respectively with a total score of 4 and 5, are not subject to correction, but double the number of joints made by this welder is subjected to additional control.

If at additional control at least one joint will be rejected (and for pipelines of categories III and IV, it is estimated, respectively, with a total score of 4 and 5), 100% of the joints made by this welder are subjected to control. If at the same time at least one joint is rejected, the welder is suspended from welding work on pipelines.

4.13. The sensitivity of radiographic control must correspond (according to GOST 7512-82) for pipelines P y over 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2), categories I and II - class 2, for pipelines III and IV categories - class 3.

4.14 . According to the results of ultrasonic testing, welded joints of pipelines P y over 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2) are considered to be of high quality if there are no:

a) extended planar and volumetric defects;

b) volumetric non-extended defects with a reflected signal amplitude corresponding to an equivalent area of 2 mm 2 or more - with a pipe wall thickness of up to 20 mm inclusive and 3 mm 2 or more - with a wall thickness of more than 20 mm;

c) volumetric non-extended defects with a reflected signal amplitude corresponding to an equivalent area of up to 2 mm 2 - with a pipe wall thickness of up to 20 mm inclusive and up to 3 mm 2 - with a wall thickness of more than 20 mm, in an amount of more than three for every 100 mm of the seam.

Welded joints of steel pipelines of category I-IV must meet the requirements established by industry standards. Upon receipt of unsatisfactory results of ultrasonic testing of at least one joint, double the number of joints made by this welder is inspected. If the results of the repeated control are unsatisfactory, 100% of the joints are inspected. A welder who has allowed a marriage may be allowed again to weld pipelines only after passing tests according to programs approved by the USSR ministry (department).

4.15. Correction by local sampling and subsequent half-welding (without re-welding the entire joint) are subject to sections of the welded seam of steel pipelines, if the dimensions of the sample after removing the defective section of the seam do not exceed the values \u200b\u200bspecified in Table. one.

A welded joint in which, in order to correct a defective area, it is required to make a sample larger than the allowable one according to Table. 1 must be completely removed and a "coil" welded in its place.

All defective sections of the welded joint, identified during external examination and measurements, control by ultrasonic, magnetic particle or color method, are subject to correction.

In joints rejected according to the results of radiographic inspection, the sections of the seam rated with the highest score, determined in accordance with clause 4.12 and mandatory Appendix 4, are subject to correction.

The same junction is allowed to be corrected no more than once. Correction of defects by undermarking is prohibited.

All repaired joint areas shall be inspected by non-destructive methods.

Information about the correction and re-inspection of joints must be included in the production documentation in accordance with the mandatory Appendix 2.

4.16. Welded joints of steel pipelines R y over 10 MPa (100 kgf / cm 2), as well as pipelines R y up to 10 MPa incl. (100 kgf / cm 2) from steels of the XM and HF groups that have undergone heat treatment.

According to the results of hardness measurement, welded joints are considered to be of high quality when performing following conditions:

a) a decrease in the hardness of the deposited metal by no more than 25 HB of the lower value of the hardness of the base metal;

b) exceeding the hardness of the deposited metal by no more than 20 HB of the upper value of the hardness of the base metal;

c) exceeding the difference in hardness of the base metal and the metal in the heat-affected zone by no more than 50 HB.

If the difference in hardness exceeds the allowable one, the joints should be heat treated again, and if the difference in hardness exceeds the allowable after repeated heat treatment, steeloscopy of the weld metal and the base metal of all the same type joints welded by this welder during the time after the last control check should be performed. If the chemical composition of the deposited metal does not correspond to the specified one, the joints are rejected.

QUALITY CONTROL OF PIPELINE CONNECTIONS
FROM NON-FERROUS METALS AND ALLOYS

4.17. Quality control of welded and soldered joints should be carried out by their external inspection, as well as hydraulic or pneumatic testing of pipelines in accordance with the instructions set forth in Sec. 5 real rules.

4.18. By appearance brazed seams should have a smooth surface with a smooth transition to the base metal. Influxes, captivity, shells, foreign inclusions and non-solder are not allowed.

4.19. Defective places brazed seams are allowed to be corrected by soldering followed by retesting, but not more than twice.

CONNECTION QUALITY CONTROL
PLASTIC PIPING

4.20. Quality control of joints of plastic pipelines should include incoming, operational and acceptance control (external inspection and measurements, accelerated quality control of welded joints and their mechanical tests).

4.21. During the incoming inspection of welded and adhesive joints, the quality of materials and products should be checked for compliance with the requirements of standards and departmental regulations.

4.22. The operational control of welded joints should include checking the quality of the assembly of pipes for welding, the quality of the surfaces of the ends of the pipes, the cleanliness of the working surfaces of the heating tool and the control of the welding mode.

The operational control of adhesive joints should include checking the quality of preparation of surfaces for gluing, compliance with the size of the gaps when assembling pipes and the modes of the gluing process.

4.23. All welded and adhesive joints are subject to inspection and measurement. Their appearance must meet the following requirements:

a) the weld bead obtained as a result of butt welding must be symmetrical and evenly distributed along the width and perimeter;

b) the weld bead should not have a sharp demarcation line, its surface should be smooth, without cracks, gas bubbles and foreign inclusions; when welding a socket, the bead must be evenly distributed along the end of the socket;

c) during gas bar welding of PVC pipes, there should be no voids between the bars, burnout of the material of products and welding rods, uneven strengthening of the welded joint in width and height, and its surface should be convex and have a smooth adjoining to the base material;

d) when gluing pipes, the gap between them must be filled with an adhesive film that protrudes evenly along the perimeter of the connection.

4.24. In butt-butt welding, if defects are found in the joint, the corresponding sections of the pipes are cut out and "coils" with a length of at least 200 mm are welded in. With bar welding, defective areas can be repaired without cutting.

4.25. An accelerated quality check of welded joints should be performed to set up welding equipment and make adjustments to the welding mode when a new batch of pipes is received by testing samples for tension, bending and peeling in accordance with the requirements of departmental regulatory documents.

4.26. Mechanical tests for tension and shear should be subjected to welded joints of pipelines of categories II and III.

0.5% of the total number of joints made at one facility, including at least one of the total number of joints made by one welder, is subject to control. Samples taken for control should be straight. The welded joint should be located in the center of the cut out area. The dimensions and quality indicators of the tested samples are taken in accordance with the requirements of departmental regulatory documents.

The time between welding and tensile and shear testing of specimens shall be at least 24 h.

If unsatisfactory results are obtained in a tensile or shear test of at least one joint, a re-check is performed on twice their number. In case of unsatisfactory results of the repeated check, all welded joints are rejected and cut out.
